Seeds of the North is a documentary film set in Thunder Bay, northern Ontario, Canada, centered around the Lakehead University Agricultural Research Station, known as LUARS. The film explores how agriculture, research, and community come together in a region where farming faces unique challenges. At its core, the documentary is about connection, between research and farmers, between science and everyday practice, and between long-term vision and real-world impact. The story highlights why LUARS matters, not only to farmers, but to students, communities, and anyone who depends on sustainable food systems in the North.
