This documentary showcases the way of life of the inhabitants of Yunguilla, an Ecuadorian community located in the province of Pichincha, which forms part of the Andean Bear corridor. Through the daily lives of its residents, this film presents a territory where community organization and care for the natural environment are central elements of their identity.
Furthermore, it shows how the residents have developed strategies based on resilience, cooperation, and a close relationship with the environment. These practices have allowed them to face economic and social challenges, making conservation a sustainable alternative to extractive activities that affect many rural areas. Throughout the testimonies and experiences shared by community members, forms of collective work and projects that strengthen community life are evident, bringing us closer to the Andean philosophy of Buen Vivir (Good Living), a vision that promotes a way of life based on harmony and balance with nature. It also underscores the importance of prioritizing collective well-being, respect for the land, and sustainability as fundamental principles for building more just and balanced societies.
“When you dream alone, dreams might come true; but when you dream in community, those dreams do come true.” This reflection summarizes the spirit of the community.
